Happenings and Upcoming Events

The Belton, TX hamfest will be held Friday and Saturday October 5-6, 2018 beginning at 1:00 pm Friday and 7:00 am on Saturday.

The Springhill Amateur Radio Club will be meeting at the Carter Federal Community Center meeting room on Main Street Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 6:00 pm for the annual radio club meeting. Among the thing happeing at the meeting  will be elect new officers and discuss the Lumberjack Festival ham radio demonstration that weekend and internet connectivity for DMR.

The Springhill Amateur Radio Club will set up a demonstration area at the upcoming Lumberjack Festival in Springhill on Friday and Saturday October 12-13, 2018. We will have a HF and VHF station set up to make contacts. We will have the Magnolia tower trailer for antennas. We plan on a satellite tracking station, emergency “go boxes”, SDR exhibit, TVs showing how to become a ham and public service announcements, various pamphlets to hand out on different aspects of ham radio and other display items of interest for the public and first responders.

 

It’s that time of year again where we start to think about electing new directors and officers for next year. If you are willing to serve as a director please contact the club president or send an email to the address at the bottom of this website. Directors are elected by the general members who have paid their dues. The officers of President, Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer are then elected by the directors from the pool of newly elected directors. Elections will be held at the next Springhill Amateur Radio Club meeting which will be _______, November ___, 2018 at the Carter Federal Community Center, 203 South Main Street, Springhill, LA 71075 at 6:30 pm.

 

The Springhill Christmas Parade will be held on November 24, 2018. The ham club has been asked to line up the parade as usual. Please make plans to assist with the lineup.

 

The Springhill Amateur Radio Club will have its annual Christmas party and dinner Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Frank Anthony Community Activity Center on West Church Street, Springhill, LA 71075. Same place as previous years. We will begin to gather at 6:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Participation in a “Robbers Christmas” is optional. IF you wish to participate, please bring a wrapped gift with a price range of $5 to $10.

 

The Minden, LA hamfest will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 starting at 8:00 am.
